Heidi Ingersoll Allen, the artist and owner of Posh Paint Designs, started out at an early age, carefully coloring between the lines of coloring books, and quickly graduated to creating her own masterpieces…and turned that passion into a business.
“I started out as an artist as soon as I was able to hold a paintbrush, and have taken my natural creativity and love of art into a career, painting anything and everything. My parents noticed my artistic abilities when I was young and made sure I was enrolled in art classes each year as a young child. In high school I enrolled in Advanced Placement Art classes at the college level, and went into studies in Interior Design at Brooks College in Long Beach, CA. During my college years I was awarded First Runner Up for Excellence in Bed and Breakfast Design, and also took awards for Rendering and Illustration. Taking classes on furniture design, color theory and rendering were probably the courses that led me to my entry into the world of decorative painting for the home. Being able to see an old desk at a garage sale and envision how it can be painted and brought back to life rather than tossed out, or the ability to see in my mind how a lime green wall will look amazing in your family room, even if you can’t envision it. My other talent lies in the ability to help you see it…with my detailed sketches, renderings and sample boards I will be able to give you the ability to see what you are going to get, on a smaller scale.
After landing my first job in the model home field, I realized that I was not using my abilities as an artist as I should have been, and in 1998 I went out and started my first mural painting company. Over the years I have had the opportunity to work with so many amazing clients on an endless array of projects, and I have never done the same job twice. I love starting out with a new client and figuring out what they really want to accomplish with their new painting project, get it sketched or on a sample board and see their eyes light up when they get that glimpse of what they are going to have in their home.
